Taxi cuts across motorcyclist

J
was involved in a motorcycle collision on 16th September 2012 on his way to work.

A taxi travelling in the same direction crossed in front of the motorcyclist's path to access a junction to their left. The two vehicles collided and our client was knocked from his bike.

J sustained extensive soft tissue damage to his right shoulder, left hip and to his neck and back. Because of his injuries he required to take time off work. Later, medical reports also revealed that the client had fractured his back.

Despite photographs from the scene and a list of very compelling witnesses,a doctor, a QC and her husband, and a supportive Police Officer, the Third Party insurers did not accept liability and we were forced to litigate. The Third Party Solicitors also failed to accept liability until the week prior to the Court Hearing. Settlement was only able to be reached the day before the case went to Court.

The case finally settled for £17,500.

We funded the case from start to finish which meant our client was able to get access to justice. We were able to fund the medical reports which were able to identify the reason behind the client’s ongoing pain.

On conclusion of his case, J commented to Brenda Mitchell, “Many thanks to you, your assistants and Counsel for the fantastic job you did in winning my case. I hope never to use your assistance in the future but rest assured that I will be recommending Motorcycle Law Scotland to any friends that require the expert level of knowledge you showed me during the past 18 months.”
